Rydell finds ‘Jumpshot’

Mark Rydell will direct Kim Basinger and Danny DeVito in ”Jumpshot” for producers David Greathouse and Bob Yari. Also starring Nick Cannon, Jay Mohr, Forest Whitaker and Carla Gugino. Ray Liotta and Kelsey Gramme rare in negotiations to joint he cast; pic is slated to begin production Jan. 18.

Story follows the lives of three people who converge during a championship college basketball game. They include a player who shaves points to help his brother pay off his bookie, a bookie who tries to go straight and a housewife who bets her family’s life savings on the big game. Robert Tannen wrote the script.

Pic is financed through Bob Yari Prods. and Apollo Media. Three Wolves Entertainment co produces the project.
